Hand-painted watercolor on woodcut print in an edition of 3. This print is special in that it employs the "white line woodcut" technique - the artist first hand-carves a wood block, and then painstakingly paints with watercolor pigment directly onto the wood (third image), section by section. The paper is repeatedly rubbed against the inked wood until the full image emerges. The labor-intensive inking process (a cross between an original watercolor and a woodcut print) results in the tiny edition size. Signed and numbered by the artist on medium-weight 110gsm Japanese Shiramine washi paper.
Paper Size: 5.5" x 8"
Unframed. Please note that due to nature of the hand-printing process, there are variations in tone and texture across each edition. These prints are made-to-order, so please allow an extra 1-2 weeks for printing.
